| Susannah rested her hands on the cold wood of the counter, watching the rain coming down outside the snug Café. It was certainly a frosty afternoon, the rain was bringing a slight cold as well as it's usual soggy musk. The city was blanketed in a light, white dovet of fog.
Another lazy afternoon where the pattering of rain could almost put you to sleep. The clock ticked away in it's corner, slow in contrast to the zooming city outside the Café's walls. It was almost closing time, perhaps half an hour 'till she set home again. With a quiet sigh, Susannah rolled her sleeves down to her wrists, the purple fabric warm on her skin. Just a little longer until she could retreat, and return to her small apartment.

| Not even a few stools away from the girl, Adel sat with his elbows firmly planted on the wood in front of himself. His right index finger lightly rubbed the brim of his wine glass--how he loved the finer things in life like a nice glass of the finest wines. What also made that day great? The lulling sounds of the rain pitter-pattering against the window--another thing he loved. He inhaled deeply and just released through a sigh. He ran his finger tips through his hair.
It was quiet days like this, sitting undisturbed in the small cafe, which made him feel a peace with himself. "What a wonderful day." He murmured in his native tongue of German, his ears catching the distant sound of a ring coming from his crystal glass. Who knew they had such fine glasses in a little cafe? He dropped his hand from his head and lightly began tapping out a small rhythm as if playing his favorite piece on the piano, but obviously without all of his emphasis and real enjoyment.

| Susannah took her eyes from the falling grey outside, sighing as she took a murky glass from the counter in front of her, quickly fetching a cloth and cleaning it.
There was only one man still sitting in the Café, tapping quietly against the counter top, murmuring something of a language unknown to her. Smiling, she absently wiped the glass down. "Quiet day, yes?" She asked, trying her best to sound clear. She knew her influency with English was still likely shown in her pronounciation, if not her choice of words, but she tried.

| Adel was paying no attention to the woman in front of himself as she began to clean the glass near himself. He did not acknowledge her until she actually spoke to, assuming, himself. His eyes darted towards her, though he did not turn his head. But he did finally lift it as he heard her broken English--obviously she was a foreigner like himself. "Ja." He answered back in German with a light nod, "I suppose." He continued in English with his heavy accent.
He stopped his tapping motion, keeping his hand firm on the wood, "Just like every other day." He spoke up again, though it sounded more like a question than just that of a statement, perking up his brow

| Susannah nodded, giving the fragile glass in her hand one last clean swipe before setting it back in it's place amongst the shelves. The man seemed foreign, though with a seemingly better grasp on English than herself. She felt a little envious, smiling at the sophisticated young man on the stool.
"You are not English?" She guessed, resting her arms on the polished counter, mildly intrigued; "Where are you from?" Susannah wasn't normally one to socialize in a work setting, but at this lazy afternoon hour, she supposed no harm could come from making a friend or two.
