Delaney is passive. She watches and observes before she acts. She is slow to anger, but receptive to the feelings of others. Her eyes betray her self-doubt, and she often tucks herself away when she’s feeling vulnerable. She is shy and prefers the company of her camera to other humans. She is only really passionate about her photography. Everything else in life has a tendency to pass her by.

Character Flaws:
-Isolated within herself.
-Doesn’t trust easily.
-Isn’t very verbal; can’t hold a conversation.

Bio:
From the time she was a young child, Delaney was fascinated with colors. She was attracted to the gaudy playthings of children simply to run her fingers over the brightest parts. She doesn’t see the world in shapes and sizes; she sees things by shade and hue. Growing up, her best friend, a young boy named Henry, was the only one who understood her rather unique outlook on life. Delaney never comprehended this – considering Henry had been colorblind since birth. Even though, or maybe especially because he couldn’t see the crimson tones of the roses that Delaney’s parents grew in their backyard, or the blues of the sky, he understood what it was like to be a little different.

Henry was an extraordinarily talented artist. He sketched, mostly, and a majority of his drawings were penciled. He tried to teach Delaney how to draw, but she never quite caught on to it – once again, she struggled with shapes and lines. Instead, she turned to photography, hoping to capture the images that danced in her mind instead of recreating it. Henry was her only real supporter in this – her parents frowned, considered it to be a mindless hobby instead of a passion, and later, a career.

Henry died in an automobile accident when he was sixteen, and Delaney was fifteen. The only person who she had ever trusted was gone, and she began building walls to fill the gaps he left behind. She stole his portfolio from his parents’ house a few weeks after he died, and she’s kept it under her mattress everywhere she’s gone ever since.

Extra Information:
Delaney’s parents are her only family members that she knows of. While she is in contact with them, she moved out when she was eighteen, and is basically on her own. She moves when it suits her, and her sights are always locked on the moon.
